After the miserable loss of Jon Ossoff in Georgia, Democrats have started to see how useless Nancy Pelosi really is. They have been calling for better leadership in the Democratic Party and for her to retire. According to a new poll, 58% of Democrats believe that the party needs new leadership. Ouch.
Even Chuck Schumer was willing to admit that the Democratic Party has no real message. “I think if we come up with this strong, bold economic package, it will – it will change things around. That’s what we were missing. People don’t like Trump; he’s at 40 percent. But they say what the heck do the Democrats stand for?” said Schumer.
Pelosi on the other hand, is in complete denial. In response to calls for her resignation she talked about how great she is. “Should I sing my praises? Well, I am a master legislator. I am a strategic politically astute leader. My leadership is recognized by many around the country, and that is why I am able to attract the support that I do which is essential to our election, sad to say,” said Pelosi.
Jonathan Torbin wrote an article for The National Review called “Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Sinking Democratic Brand”
“While Democrats like to say that they are the party of the young and that this portends their eventual return to power, they are led by a sclerotic band of elderly power brokers who bear a troubling resemblance to the party bosses of a bygone era of American political history,” wrote Torbin.
