‘Sharia Law’ Protests Smash Historic Record — No One Predicted This

For years, decent Americans have been saying that we need to stand up to radical Islam.

Unfortunately, PC culture makes it so that no one really does anything.

As of this week, however, Americans are refusing to stay silent.

In over 20 cities across the country, anti-radical Islam group ACT for America organized the “March Against Sharia.”

It was almost certainly the largest ever move against Islam’s corrupt teachings in America today.

As reported by NBC News:

Demonstrations against Islamic law led to arrests, tense confrontations and physical fights in some U.S. cities Saturday amid several rallies sponsored by ACT for America, which the Southern Poverty Law Center designates as an anti-Muslim hate group.

The “March Against Sharia” was scheduled to take place in more than 20 cities, including New York, Dallas and Atlanta, and was projected to be ACT for America’s largest protest against Islam.

In some cities, the rallies were met by counter-demonstrators. Seven people were arrested during demonstrations at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul, but no injuries were reported, the state patrol said.

It is about time that someone decided to speak out against radical Islam and Sharia Law.

Sharia Law contains some of the most vile, hateful teachings of any religious group.

It oppresses women. It attacks gays. It condemns those who leave Islam, and it marginalizes non-Muslims. At its core, Sharia Law might be the biggest threat to human rights in the modern world.

Some of the worst places in the world right now for human rights are those which follow Sharia Law.

Ask anybody who lives in ISIS-controlled Syria, Al-Shabaab-controlled Somalia, or Wahhabi-controlled Saudi Arabia how they feel about their personal liberties. If they are free to answer you – which they most likely would not be – and if they even know what “liberty” means – which they most likely would not – they would tell you that they have no such thing.

That is because Sharia Law takes control of one’s own life away from the individual and gives it to religious officials who have no regard for human rights whatsoever.

Make no mistake, there is nothing inherently wrong with religious belief and practice. The United States of America was founded on religious freedom, and every American has the right to practice his or her own religion in peace.

Radical Islam and Sharia Law, however, cannot be practiced in peace.

What perplexes me is that, somehow, saying Sharia Law has no place in American society makes ACT for America a “hate group.”

How about radical Islam? Is that not an even larger hate group?

What perplex me further are the counter-protestors who actively took time out of their days to defend Sharia Law. Do these people – many of whom being female and LGBT – not understand what would happen to them if they lived under the very same Sharia Law they want to protect?

I find the notion of a pro-Sharia Law protest wholly ironic. No country that follows Sharia Law would ever allow a public protest for any cause in the first place.

We can only do so much to call out liberal hypocrisy. We should be glad, however, that more and more Americans everyday are standing up to the affront to human rights that is Sharia Law.
