Last night, the mega fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather finally became a reality. After months of speculation, the two fighters lived up to the hype. Despite no professional boxing experience, McGregor held his own through the first few rounds. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome one of the greatest boxers of all-time, with Mayweather finally delivering the technical knockout in the 10th round.
Regardless, the fight was a huge success for both men. Going into the fight, Mayweather was guaranteed to make $100 million. For his part, McGregor’s share of the purse was $30 million. However, after the PPV and sponsorship money is divided up, both fighters stand to walk away with well over $100 million.
After the fight, both men met in the middle of the ring to express their gratitude. To most, it was an honorable demonstration of good sportsmanship. However, others saw the moment as a reason for outrage. Never missing an opportunity to be offended, liberals everywhere had a meltdown over McGregor’s post-fight comments.
From Yahoo Sports:
“I turned him into a Mexican tonight. He fought like a Mexican.”
Sounds pretty bad, right?
Especially when you consider that the man who said it, Conor McGregor, had already made quite a few racially insensitive comments on the media tour in the buildup to the fight itself. He at one point told Floyd Mayweather, “Dance for me, boy.” He used a stereotype to claim he’s “half-black, from the belly button down.” And so on.

Predictably, liberals on Twitter started to freak:
What does he mean "he fought like a Mexican tonight"?! I wish he would've put his ass on the floor. #MayweathervMcgregor

However, others pointed out that the comment was actually a compliment:
"I turned him into a Mexican. He fought like a Mexican tonight." Ultimate compliment in fight game. Referencing Mexican fighters toughness.

Indeed, Mexican boxers have a well-earned reputation in the boxing world:
Over the years, Mexican fighters have long been considered by boxing pundits as some of the toughest, most exciting fighters in the sport due to the forward-charging, all-action style of many of their most famous stars.
From Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. to Oscar De La Hoya to Erik Morales to Canelo Alvarez and on and on, Mexican boxers have long thrilled boxing audiences with their aggressive approach in the ring.
In the past, Mayweather has been known for his defensive style of fighting. However, McGregor’s unique approach caused Mayweather to adjust on the fly. In doing so, Mayweather was able to deliver the knockout in the 10th round. Far from being racist, “fighting like a Mexican” is what helped Mayweather win the fight.
Sadly, liberals can make any event into a political narrative. While millions were tuning in for a entertaining distraction, liberals stood by for reasons to be outraged. As usual, they were dead wrong.
